Hygienic Line Carpanelli Motors

Hygienic Line Carpanelli Motors
Hygienic Line is the new line of Carpanelli motors with a clean profile, capable of guaranteeing maximum hygiene, protection and safety in industrial environments.
Carpanelli electric motors, which are part of the Hygienic Line, are the GHA Motors and Stainless Steel Motors.
Self-braking motors
All motors in the Hygienic Line are also available in a self-braking version, with brakes: DC brake (direct current) with direct power supply; DC brake with separate AC power supply, with rectifier. All motors are also available with position transducers: incremental encoders up to 65,000 imp/rev, absolute or with field bus; resolvers. The shafts of all motors in the hygienic line are made of AISI 420; on request, shafts can be made of AISI 316.
Carpanelli also designs and manufactures customised motors on request.
GHA Carpanelli motors
GHA Carpanelli motors are electric motors with silver treatment, patented by Carpanelli Motori Elettrici.
This new silver treatment, designed for aluminium alloy motors, gives the motors antibacterial properties: it therefore offers a valid alternative to stainless steel motors or other expensive treatments for sectors such as the food or pharmaceutical industries, where it is necessary to maintain a clean and aseptic environment.
The silver treatment gives the motors properties such as:
- Resistance to high-pressure washing
- Improved thermal conductivity
- Anti-mould and bactericidal properties, ideal for aseptic environments
- High resistance to abrasive wear
- High hardness
Advantages of GHA motors
The main strengths of GHA motors compared to stainless steel motors are:
- Antibacterial properties against the main bacteria harmful to the human body
- Lower total weight
- Non-magnetic, therefore able to withstand high voltages
- High thermal conductivity, almost 15 times higher
Among the advantages of using these motors:
- Safety and aseptic properties: the antibacterial properties of silver allow these motors to be used even in contact with foodstuffs, preventing bacterial proliferation and almost “disinfecting” the food itself
- Non-toxic and non-absorbent manufacturing materials, do not release toxic substances and do not retain substances with which they come into contact
- Nickel-free
- Electrical performance: the high thermal conductivity of silver-treated aluminium allows the motor to dissipate heat at a rate 10 times higher than stainless steel; the casing therefore remains cooler. Working at lower temperatures ensures longer component life, lower internal condensation and, in addition, the motor does not pose a hazard to operators who may come into contact with it. The efficiency of the electric motor is also improved by the lower temperature.
Carpanelli stainless steel motors
The Carpanelli range of stainless steel motors with a completely smooth surface (tubular casing), ventilated and with a clean profile, guarantees compliance with the highest hygiene standards required by the market.
Advantages of stainless steel motors
The surface of these motors is extremely easy to clean and resistant to the main aggressive agents used in plant sanitisation. They are highly resistant to corrosion and represent a reliable and durable solution where hygiene is a fundamental requirement. There are no areas where dust or processing residues can accumulate.
Motors are available with cable gland only or with rear cover, inside which the terminal box, brake or encoder can be housed. Thanks to careful electrical design, heating is reduced and the surface temperature is kept low. Furthermore, these motors are particularly suitable for use with inverters.
