Carpanelli brake motors are available in a wide range of sizes and executions. The braking torque can be dimensioned by combining the number of springs installed or by using a double friction disc or double brake.
Carpanelli direct current brake motors
Direct current brakes, compared to alternating current powered ones, offer numerous advantages. They are silent brakes, produce less vibration, have excellent thermal stability and ensure maximum efficiency, allowing a greater number of interventions per minute.
The brakes are powered by an external direct current source, or by the motor power supply through a special rectifier.
Carpanelli compact motors with DC brakes
For applications where available space is limited, it can be used a space-saving brake version. The motor has the same length as the motor without brake.
Carpanelli alternating current brake motors
On the other hand, the main advantage of alternating current brakes, is that they offer greater intervention speed, compared to direct current brakes.

- Manual release lever (excluding size M56)
- Protection degree: different degrees of protection are available according to the application
- Positive brakes: brakes that act upon application of voltage
- M.A.I: Carpanelli has developed the Motor with brake suitable for use with an Inverter. A special brake connected in parallel to the motor, thus reducing complexity, size, wiring and components.
- DAM: Manually operated device, patented by Carpanelli, for unlocking and locking motors mounted vertically at great heights from the ground.
