Carpanelli Motori Elettrici is investing in the advanced digitalisation of production and logistics processes
Carpanelli Motori Elettrici reaffirms its commitment to innovation by participating in the Call for Proposals for the Advanced Digitalisation of Production and Logistics Processes for Mechatronics 4.0: a project made possible thanks to European funds from the Emilia-Romagna Region.
The initiative forms part of a process of technological evolution aimed at making production increasingly connected, traceable and efficient, whilst strengthening the integration between the production department, business management and internal logistics.
An MES system for real-time production control
The project involved the implementation of an MES system — Manufacturing Execution System — for real-time production control.
Thanks to this solution, Carpanelli can monitor the progress of production activities more accurately, collect up-to-date data from processes and improve visibility across the various stages of production.
The MES represents a strategic step towards industrial digitalisation, as it enables information from production to be linked with other company systems, transforming operational data into useful tools for planning, controlling and optimising day-to-day operations.
Integration with ERP and the automated vertical warehouse
One of the key elements of the project was the integration of the new MES system with the company’s ERP and the automated vertical warehouse, which underwent a major technological revamp.
This integration enables greater synchronisation between production and logistics, improving the flow of information between planning, material availability, production progress and warehouse management.
In a complex production environment, the ability to link different systems within a single operational framework makes it possible to reduce manual tasks, optimise lead times and improve coordination between departments.
Software customisations for better-controlled processes
The project also involved the development of specific software customisations, designed to meet the operational needs of Carpanelli Motori Elettrici.
These customisations have improved production planning, synchronisation between logistics and production and data traceability throughout the process.
The result is a digital system better tailored to the company’s needs, capable of supporting activity monitoring, information management and the transition towards increasingly integrated production models.
Digitalisation and Mechatronics 4.0: an investment in the future
For Carpanelli, participating in the call for proposals represents a further step towards Mechatronics 4.0, where automation, software, data and production processes interact ever more closely.
Digitising production does not merely mean introducing new technological tools, but building a more connected business system, in which information is available, up to date and usable for making faster and more informed decisions.
Through the integration of MES, ERP and the automated warehouse, Carpanelli is strengthening its ability to manage advanced production processes, improving control, traceability and operational coordination.
